Title: Mister Bernie, a question.
Post by raydawg on 06/13/19 at 12:32:21

Given your take on how big business unfairly capitalizes on folk, and is a detriment to a fair, equal, and just society......

I wonder how you feel, view, professional sport franchises?

They often get extremely advantages funding not available to Joe Sixpack, often times even upsetting normal working folks lives, with imminent domain actions, that tear away their homes for these professional stadiums expansions.....

Lots of these folk are forced to accept lower than reality market values, and can never climb back to that spot that once enjoyed economically, before they were moved....

Not only this Sir, but think about the cost of providing security, policing, traffic, etc, that drains local budgets on money that might be spent on schooling, heathcare, etc.

And furthermore, this condoning, promoting, sanctioning, of professional sports often leads to confrontations, ill feelings, and can lead to civil unrest, as it pit folk against folk, often with anger, emotions erupting into chaos, that once again, drains our budgets to confront and control....

Often spilling over into personal lose to businesses, that just happen to be in the wrong place as well.....costing all of us more to buy/purchase/support, the local economy.

And this one Sir, which I am not sure we can ever gauge the effects of (it), as it might not be revealed for years, or even decades, when it could possible surface in a persons life in a negative way, causing much damage, harm, and grief to many innocent people, we just don't know.

And what I am referring to is bullying to young children by their peer group, because they can't afford to buy/wear these often expensive sport team apparel.....
A deep and hurtful scar at such a young impressionable age might never heal properly.

We just can't ascertain, sadly.

Are huge profits worth the chance......????

Love to hear what you think senator.

Keep it real ray - if you have any clue of what Bernie's platform is, you know what his position would be on your post.

There's nothing wrong with capitalism.

The hyperbole in your post is way beyond reason.  It's kind of silly to blame professional sports for "confrontations".

The market will support paying those athletes anything they want.  Once the crowds go away, then the sport goes.  Let the owners make their cash.

There's nothing wrong with capitalism.

Can you explain,
WITHOUT SPIN.
Why the DSA, (of which you are a proud member)
have these planks in their platform ?

In the short term we can’t eliminate private corporations, but we can bring them under greater democratic control.

As we are unlikely to see an immediate end to capitalism tomorrow, DSA fights for reforms today that will weaken the power of corporations and increase the power of working people.

We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit,

Democratic socialists believe that both the economy and society should be run democratically—to meet public needs, not to make profits for a few.

we do not want big corporate bureaucracies to control our society

Resources are used to make money for capitalists rather than to meet human needs.

large concentrations of capital in industries such as energy and steel may necessitate some form of state ownership

No single-issue organization can truly challenge the capitalist system or adequately secure its particular demands.

And it just goes on and on, and on, and on, about, 'Socialism'.
(Put a frog in a pan of cold water, than, s l o w y raise the heat)

Yet no doubt, you will 'spin'.
Being a self admited, DSA,
(and proud of it)

Glad you agree that the, democratic Socialists,
Like you, BS, AOC, (and a drop in a thimble more)
Say that those statements ARE, anti, free enterprise, (Capitalism)

So when you say, you, BS, AOC, are FOR, Capitalism, it would be a Lie.
Or is DSA lying when the planks in it's platform, are, against free enterprise.

Who, is Lying ?

(Can you say, the, 'H" word !)

No one is lying.

Again mn - there's nothing in those statements that want to bring down capitalism - it's about reigning it in.

But I guess you'd like to live in an oligarchy - well I don't.

(oh, and keep using all those smileys -it makes you look much more credible!)

Nothing wrong with capitalism,.. as long as it's regulated.
Otherwise, the citizenry and workers become subjects at the mercy of fiefdoms.

Who would be the, 'regulator' ?
Someone like Lenin perhaps ?
Would it depend on, how much the, 'regulator' was paid by the, 'Capitalist', in left hand dollars ?

Should a, 'capitalist', free market, business person, rely on his/her, knowledge, skill, intelligence, and a finger on the pulse of the 'buyers' to know what he/she is selling/making will be bought.

Or should a, 'capitalist', be brought 'under control', and 'allowed' to make/sell, ONLY, what he is told to, by the government ?

What kind of Country do you want ?
If it is the latter, LOTS of places you can go to !

And: "Nothing wrong with capitalism', is NOT, what the DSA says.
which tt, BS, AOC (and a drop in the thimble more) 'SAY', they believe in !

Not at all.  Honestly mn - keep using them!  I love to see them on your posts.  They really do make your posts look so much more credible.  Not childish at all.

I mean, hey, who wouldn't trust the opinion of a guy who has trouble with "their", "they're" and "there" posting what look like ransom notes covered in smiley faces, right?

It's pretty much every conservatives' MO.

Our elected Representatives.  They do.
