Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY): “Our guarantee to having a home comes before someone else’s privilege to earn a profit.”

Well then, lets start with Bezoz, Bloomberg, and Zuckerberg.  Then they will start jackaling like hyenas saying not in my back yard.

Best regards,

Yes, actually, I am.  I live and work in Chicago and see every day the homeless problem.  I see homeless vets, homeless children, homeless elderly.  Whatever we're trying to do now isn't working.

No, lets start with the middle class leftist pretenders. It's easy to claim socialistic actions like this are right up your alley when you've already got yours.... It's why established stars can take their fake little moral stands like not working in Georgia. They've got enough star power to turn down jobs. Up and comers don't or when those A listers  turn to C listers is when they'll shove their Pxxxys all over the Trumps of the world.

Same here. It's easy and risk free to say "You go girl!", but when push comes to shove and AOC asks TT to give up what he's got for someone "more deserving",  they'll be some serious pantie bunching  going on.

Now see mark, here's a perfect example where an opinion is wrong!

There was a meeting last year in my ward with an open debate about affordable housing in our ward.  I was a voice in favor of it.  In fact, the proposed housing would have been visible from my house.

Sadly, the alderman didn't ok it and now, that property sits vacant until who know when.  No taxes, no businesses, nothing.  His supporters are vocal in their dislike of "the ghetto people" that would populate the building - even though only a small portion would have to be low-income.  (btw, "ghetto people" is what you'd call a dog whistle of racism)

So you see mark, you're wrong.  I am in favor of it and I would welcome it to my neighborhood.

Nice try though.

Yea, I don't believe most of that story.

Another opinion that's wrong.

Nicely done mark - that's two in a row!   :D

That's too convenient and you've never brought it up before.

Besides, that's not really costing you anything. Think for a minute what AOC is asking and tell me if you think the first goal for American business is to provide housing to people and to do so because that's a legislated mandate. Do you really think Congress can/should/ought to pass legislation to that goal?

Homelessness is a difficult problem.

Our elected have convinced the public to contribute taxes to alleviate the problem but haven't seen fit to act having to deal with the 'not in my backyard crowd'.

And any privately funded help that's done on public land is thwarted by our elected.  You can't provide them housing, you can't even hand out box lunches.

Like I said - facts don't care if you believe them.... and what I do or don't bring up is of no consequence to you.  You should worry more about yourself, mark.

But you're right, it wouldn't really "cost" me anything to have low income house near me - this is why I support it.

As to what corporations are "responsible" for - well that is, as it's always been, up to them.  However, unlike today, corporations before the Reagan years had consciences.  They didn't operate for the sole purpose of profit and bottom line.  They gave back, they built great things, grew new jobs and they kept out of politics.

There's a reason this country was on top from the 50's up until the 80's.  Maybe we wouldn't be having this discussion if corporations paid fair wages.  Their profits are at record levels and have been for over a decade, yet where are the wages for its employees?  At best, they're stagnant.  Why do you think that is? (that's rhetorical - we all know why)

But back to the OP.

I think what AOC is doing is great.  She's brave enough to bring these problems out in the open and present progressive ideas to solve them.  The likes of Pelosi and mcconnell are scared sh!tless of the likes of her.  But it's only a matter of time before they're gone and the politicians like AOC are in charge.  Because, you see - AOC and those like her are politicians that actually serve their constituents, not corporate donors.

Here's to the future!

Apparently not if left up to the socialist, quickly turning communist, AOC.

Like I said, where's a guy with a milkshake when you need one.

LOL - whatever makes you feel right mark.  Go ahead and keep calling AOC a "commie".  Seems like the only thing the GOP has left is name calling anyway.  They know they're on the way out and are lighting things on fire before they're gone.  Go ahead - smoke 'em if you got 'em!   ;D

Like I keep saying - facts don't care what you think.  They just are.
