Title: Turn Signal Wiring
Post by mitchracing on 05/10/19 at 15:59:01

2002 Suzuki Savage - Put on aftermarket turn signals, two wires.  It has a striped black common, a gray ? and then Green or Black depending on left or right.
Wired originally with gray as common, and it would have both flashing whenever turn signals turned on. Looked at diagram and saw striped black was actually common... but now not working at all.
QUESTIONS:
- What are the gray wires for?
- Should I be pairing up the gray somewhere else?
- What am I doing wrong LOL

what lights are you trying to install?
front, rear?
standard or led?
most lights are made to the harley standard, frame is ground.
ours has a separate ground.

Front stock signal lights are also running lights .They are two filament bulbs, the running lights that go on with the headlight use the pos. gray wires ,turn signals use the brown or yellow pos.  the black or black/white strip is the neg. (ground ) wire .
If your replacing them with single filament bulbs the gray wires are not used, and you will have signals only.  If your replacing them with LED's they are polarity sensitive ,if the wires are hooked up backward they will not light .
