Per fas et nefas
"Per fas et nefas" refers to unfair eristic treatment. It occurs when Interlocutor A postulates a theory, and cites several reasons that justify it. Interlocutor B then refutes one of the arguments, and triumphantly declares that A's argument has no basis, even though he never said a word about the other arguments that A put forth.

My experience has been people will refute an argument without even looking at the reference material. This results in complaining more than arguing a theory.

Also a lot of it in this forum is just people complaining about other people.

My observation is the points are addressed without looking at the references or "justifications". Arguing over something one refuses to even examine or educate themselves about. Would that not fit into the concept that:

As in never saying a word because B will not even read the reference or justification? Where I come from that's called complaining.
