Title: Oh hell no....
Post by WebsterMark on 04/23/19 at 04:48:36

So Pocahontas upping the ante in the leftist game of who can give away the most money for votes by proposing we cancel huge amouts of student debt. Aw......hell no. My daught got an engineering degree, a job and is writing checks every month. Something tells me the plan Pocahontas puts together will ignore her and the millions of others who acted like adults. Seriously, WTF?

Because lefties protect the victims.
And everyone who is stupid enough to get in Debt for a degree plan that doesn't have jobs is a victim. But big sister can fix it.

If everyone has a college degree, who flips the burgers, fixes the brakes, wires/repairs the heaters and air conditioners, ?
The whole idea that everyone needs a degree is dumbernshit.

I think it's something that should be looked at more closely.

Maybe not total negation, but definitely some kind of reform/interest rate reduction.

Our kids and grandkids are drowning in debt by the time they graduate college.  It's a system that's broken.

College tuition has raised at an alarming rate - there is no check or balance in place.

What kids should do is shun the 4 year mentality in favor of the trades or maybe military service.

But those that are caught in the quicksand of student loan debt should get some help.

Its been a scam for a long time......

I asked before here, why do these campuses need to consume so much real estate, etc.....
Their green footprint is humongous, gobbling up money and energy that does not even educate folks.

Why can't schools be like shopping malls?

You could even use it to generate revenue and teach at the same time, with retail/business, food courts, etc, where on one level they have course/classes, on another hands on training, etc....

The school lobby is a joke.

I use to know a guy who sold class rings and year books, he made tons of money, same as the books they teach from....INFLATED to pay under the table fees.

Universities are liberal institutions in the sense that young people naturally fail to see the complete ramifications of their ideas. That's why the analogy of liberals as children is perfect. But let's be honest, society needs those ideas to keep being developed because they are the engine that drives progress. However, as in the real world, we need adults to rein in children so the whole structure doesn't collapse.

Our problem now is universities are managed mostly by liberals so there are few adults to stop the nonsense children get into. Throw in the fact that today's leftist politicians grew up in this environment and its no wonder a child like Warren wants a subsidized adult daycare called college.

Like I said, the more government gets involved in college, the more it gets dumbed down to high school level.

But the very idea of the government inserting itself into a private contract between two people strictly for the benefit of one side is something that should be rare and carefully considered. If Pocahontas really wanted to spur the economy (which is doing better than ever right now) why not do her socialist thing and with a wave of her very white hand, cancel all car loans. Cancel all personal property tax on vehicles. Cancel all auto insurance requirements and have the government provide it. To the average person on the street, that would have a far greater impact on them economically.

I think her plan is to eliminate debt if income under a 100 grand and a sliding scale up to 250k. What about poor Joe Blow who couldn't afford school so he's working as an HVAC texh and living at home so he can afford a car, insurance, taxes etc....

it’s all about bashing,
the crybabies, POV.

wiping debt clean on unproductive degrees will encourage further wasteful endeavors and reduce the resources to those that will be productive.
Those that are productive get the jobs that will pay the loans.
What is needed is financial justification at the time the student takes the loan or applies to college.

So a HS graduate has to make a decision.

Spend 2 years, getting a, Free, education on how to fix AC units.
Or spend 7 Years, getting a, Free, education on how to be a Doctor.
How long will it take, before ‘Doctors’ are fixing AC units ?

One solution, ‘advise’, people that, racking up a $300,000.00 debt,
getting the ‘Underwater Basket Weaving’ degree,
is a bad idea,
(unless you had, $300,000.00 just laying about, and really like baskets)

It all comes down to, a person really likes a thing,
so they pay, loan/work, to learn how to do that thing.
They will survive, and will be just fine.
vs
A person, who really does not know, or care, what they do.
and EXPECTS, to make big bucks with that,
‘Underwater Basket Weaving’ degree.
They will, ‘want’, a handout and say Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

Liberals act like children. We as a society need that.
Liberals run the asylum known as college. We as a society do NOT need that.

LOL - please mark.  I've seen far worse from trump just in the last week.

You're going to sit there and call liberals "children" when you have a guy like trump in office?

How ignorant can you be? (that's rhetorical)

It's a moot point, Pocahontas has zero chance of doing anything in her campaign other than guaranteeing future income on the failed Democratic speaking tour with John Kerry and soon to be fellow members Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.

And yes, liberals are children.

Trump doesn't factor into any discussion like this. He is an outlier, a one of a kind anomaly that previous rules and paradigms don't apply to.

So he's not a republican?

mitch mcconnell didn't block everything he could that came from Obama?

Is alex jones not considered a republican?

How about rush?

You yourself always call Warren "Pocahontas".  Tell me how that's not childish...   :D

No. He ended Hillary's national political career and made her into a joke. He did the same to Jeb Bush, Elizabeth Warren. He called out McCain for being a two faced POS. His success is showing what a limp wrist Obama was.

For all that, plus more, he gets a deck full of free passes. Like I said, a cute puppy can pi$$ on my rug and I'll deal with it while the last words a cat would hear is "Pull!".
