A sitting President is shielded from prosecution for actions taken while performing his Constitutional duties. That's a line of thinking that until recently, pre-Trump, the vast majority would agree with. That phrase "actions taken...." is purposely vague, just like "High Crimes and misdemeanors " is purposely broad. A President can direct Justice to begin or end any investigation, he can fire at will the FBI director and many other officials. He can lie, direct misinformation to the Press, Congress (as long as he isn't under oath) if he deems it necessary to move his strategies forward. All Presidents do this, but Trump has no ability to do it quietly or at least consistent with the unwritten "rules" of DC. There are many bottom lines to this Mueller report, but at the end of the day, Trump and his campaign did not make a traitorous deal with the Russians. Frankly, the only traitors in this whole mess was members of what we call the swamp. Those unelected, but appointed or hired bureaucrats who believe they are the guardians of the nation. They made their attempt to overthrow an election and failed. The remedy for a President that Congress believes has acted outside the broad latitudes granted his office is impeachment. I suggest the Democrats explore that and if agreed, move forward. Otherwise, STFU. |

I am no Trump fan, I find he has a great personality disorder, which puzzles me, because it just seems to be in conflict with being a "salesman" that one needs to be in negotiations, etc..... Having said that, I am not sure how anyone else might have reacted to the false charges, lies, and obstruction to his administration. Certainty Obama would have melted, heck, he and his followers blamed FOX for his failings in office, etc. What would he have done if he had all the opposition media like Trump experiences? Question: If Trump Jr. is being held to charges of conspiring with a foreign entity with his meeting to "get dirt" on Hillary...... Then why is the same charge not leveled at Hillary using Christopher Steele, a foreign entity to get information on Trump? What is rthe difference? |
