Title: The Outlaw Josey Wales
Post by WebsterMark on 04/09/19 at 05:29:12

I posted this elsewhere a minute ago, but felt it deserved a separate thread.

To clarify, when the phrase "the hero we don't deserve but the one we need" is used, it means Trump is not anyone's first choice. He's not necessarily an inspiring person by any means.

I would hope the Republican President in 2024 is not a Trump clone. But I hope that, because of Trump's Presidency, his type of personality won't be necessary any longer. In 2016 however, liberals and leftist had backed this Nation into a corner and Trump was the only one capable of fighting us back towards the center of the ring.

Like a vigilante, (many of Clint Eastwood's western characters) you need that person to step in and do what must be done, what only he can do. Standing in the midst of the dead and dying, after he scrappes the blood and guts off his boots, you want him to ride off. So it is with Trump.

I'd say he's more like the banker or oil tycoon that financed the vigilante.  A vigilante knows enough to not respond when somebody says something bad about him.

I'm not saying the banker isn't a valuable character, they get things done, I just don't equate Trump with heroism.  I think he has quick decision making skills and enough money to compensate for bad decisions.

The facts simply don't back you mark.  They just don't.  In no way, shape or form can any rational person say that trump's a hero in any sense of the word.

Think about it - in this economy, he should be a shoe-in for re-election.  As it is now, he actually might be primaried.  He has never gotten above 45% approval (gallup) and he probably never will.  The public knows exactly who he is.

He is not a leader - anyone can see that he's in it for himself only.  He is profiting directly off his position (emoluments clause?) and he's doing it right out in front of you all.

Look at how he's run his administration and how many people have left/been fired.  DHS and now the Secret Service directors just this week.  At the current time he doesn't even have a Secretary of Defense.

No, sorry - you're fooling yourself.  This is no hero.  I'm not sure how or why you can't (or refuse) to see who trump really is and how much damage he's done to the fabric of this country.

You yourself have said that 75% of what he says cant be defended.  How is that heroic?  Why do you continue to lie to yourself about this terrible "man"?

Title: Re: The Outlaw Josey Wales
Post by WebsterMark on 04/09/19 at 06:43:00

I'd say he's more like the banker or oil tycoon that financed the vigilante.

I don't think that's a good analogy Eeg. A Josey Wales character's actions directly benefit (and in fact are undertaken at least partially) for the benefit of others. A typical Josey Wales type character takes action first for himself and then later specifically for someone else who has been wronged. Trump truly believes he's working on behalf of this nation and to a degree, to establish a legacy for himself. I'm fine with that.

Please....... please bet me on that. Anything. A quarter....

The public knows exactly who he is.

I think you finally said something correct.

Trump was perhaps the most well known candidate in history. And he won the office. I've said all along and everyone I know has said all along, we know precisely who Trump is. And who he isn't. And we choose him.

Title: Re: The Outlaw Josey Wales

Why do you continue to lie to yourself about this terrible "man"?

I'm not lying to myself. You refuse to see, as you pointed out, 45% recognize exactly who he is and still stand by him over any of the Dems today.

Web, I will give you some credit in saying Trump won't cave under the pressure of incessant reporting from rumor and innuendo......

A get Trump, at any cost, runs rampant in the media, causing a once valuable source or, check and balance, of information, has joined the fray of self promotion, sorta of a fox now guarding the hen house scenario.....

The media, and all of its associated like minded folks, who went after Nick Sandmann is to me, a glaring example of just how out of control folks have become with their desire to ruin the man Trump.

Where a kid, remember how much we heard about bullying, etc, is sullied and bullied by many, no facts, just a opportunity they see presenting itself, to use a kid, as example, at how Trump is turning folks into terrorist like people......
When the facts support its them, that use false reporting knowingly, or with malpractice, in this event.

Funny, yes, Trump runs at the mouth defending himself......

Funny, many here run at the mouth, daily, with nothing more than their own defense of what they think and believe, and call it fact.....
And its as right as rain in their eyes.

I understand you wanting a different person in 2024, I think we will see it sooner.....I do.
I think he will give folks the middle finger in 2020, and not run, I just think that is more like him  ;D

Have a great day.....life is always a treat, if we free our mind from its tricks!  ;)

PEACE

I don't think so. I know one thing for sure, the Republicans are not bowing down and kissing the ring of a POS race hustler like Sharpton. That was embarrassing.....  Presidential candidates raising back and forth to see which one could up the reparations pot high enough to satisfy the mob. Pathetic....

I don't see that at all. If that were the case, he'd have done it long ago. No, he's in it for the long haul. Especially looking at the Democratic field.

Lowest in recorded modern history of any president.

Period.

Yeah, kind of a big whoop.

Lowest record, so what?  Just means the lines in the sand are clear now.

Look, bottom line is you can keep yacking crap about Trump all you want, put up whatever stats tickle you, repost all the fake news you want, make all the assumptions (wrong ones) you want, doesn't change anything.

You cant get this through your head but I'll try again. I understand Trump far more than you ever will. I'm fuly aware, more than you, of everything negative about him. The vast, vast majority of his voters know the same thing.......but he was a better choice than Hillary, a better choice than socialist Bernie. The nation is in better shape than when Trump took the reins.

No?  Not even your beloved ann coulter, huh?  LOL . Listen mark - it's clear you don't pay attention to what's actually going on.  You're so far up trump's rear end that sean hannity is fighting you for air!  Your devotion to this pig of a man will give you nothing.  You'll have no basis to call yourself a conservative much longer.  Just like nixon and his devotees - you'll be on the wrong side of history.

I disagree.  Yeah, the economy might be slightly better, but we are farther in debt, have less respect on the world stage, are shunning our responsibilities on clean energy and wages have barely moved.  Socially, we're more divided than ever and it's a fact that right wing hate crimes are on the rise.

Meanwhile, the tax break that this administration gave was a boon to no one but the top 1% and corporations.

What you're doing is easy to see.  You're picking a man over the country.  Sero was right - you have a man crush and it fogs your vision.

Hillary Clinton would have been a far better president than this thin-skinned, serial-tweeting, chemically tanned, golf loving, adulterer.

No mark I actually read it all.  Hence, why I know just what kind of person you are.  (I've actually known since the first time you PM'ed me in a fit of rage).  You've curbed your beliefs to support this man.  You once took what ann coulter said as gospel, now - she's wrong?  You complain about Obama being a pu$$y, yet when trump comes back from North Korea with nothing, or gets laughed at by the U.N., somehow that's ok?  I do have to give you credit though - you've made the greatest sale of all - your morality.

Oh, and let's be clear - there is no way in hell you are, nor would ever be, my friend.

The only thing I learned is that trump thinks he's a "great leader"....  You know, because he has his opponents killed and literally starves his countrymen.

"Trump truly believes he's working on behalf of this nation and to a degree,"

Believing and the process of executing are different things.  Trump in practice, the methods he uses and the reactions to events, to me, are not heroic or metaphorically able to be tied to heroism.

Josey Wales had his family murdered, overcomes obstacles such as being ostracized and hunted, and assists other in the process.  He is not "offended" by others talking bad about him, doesn't make threats and then back off, he is not financially secure, and raising his own family.

Trump's tactics are more of a management style based off his lifetime of essentially having everything he needs to get something done.  He just needed to make the decision, and someone else did the work.  That, to me, is not a hero.

Kim's still flying high over the last BJ Trump gave him......

aka, he has enough propaganda from meeting with Trump to keep his people in awe and under control for quite awhile...  Kim is also still getting tons of attention from the USA so that's all he really wanted with all the missiles anyway.

When's the last time Trump talked tough against NK????

Na....it's too early for an official prediction, but my early guess is he'll be around until 2024.

Biden the Pervert is out, Bernie the crazy rich uncle is a joke. Wait until he releases his taxes and has to explain how the system that made him a multimillionaire is cruel, unjust and must be end before anyone else has the chance to do what he did.

The dozen or so others future speaker circuit participants are picking non-gmo corn out of AOC's crap or sucking up to scummy Sharpton......  Unless one of those clowns grows a pair or at least pretends to, they'll get crushed. You think enough people who voted for Trump in those key states (whose economy is doing much better) are going to vote for white Obama lookalike  Beto O'Pu$$boy? Hardly.

___________________________________________________________________

I will predict, however, he will have lots of hurdles to overcome......
Mostly being he has no experience, yet, just look at the mess of what experienced politicians have made of our country......BAM!

Howard Schultz.

I like what he has to say, and he can run against both parties with assigning them fault to the current mess.

His rags to riches IS the American dream realized, who better to emulate, well, unless you just want to sit back, drink, smoke, get lazy and fat, and have it all given to you  ;D

About Biden, He shouldn't joked about touching after he apologized, that was just dumb, but like Trump, with collusion, the charge was just a means to get him, as Hillary, et al, even Obama, showed more participating with Russia than Trump.....

Biden has been complicit in pushing the White man guilt card, it has now caught him too.....
Much like how Hillary lost her race card against Obama...

His touching was not the real cause to unacceptability, that is BS in my book....it really was a way for him to express and connect with folks.

But again, sadly, the pushing of the PC mindset, and victimized, people use this "tool" to advance themselves to a higher advantage in achieving their OWN set agenda and goals..... :)

No. I saw a clip of him on Twitter meeting a couple at a campaign even. While talking to the man, he shook the young woman's hand, he then reached up and caressed her chin, cheek. She pulled back stunned. He went on talking to the man. That's not normal. Coupling that with the other stuff, and it adds up to something.

but here's the thing, he should own it, not apologize. if he's genuinely just connecting, that's who he is. Instead, he was 'forced' to apologize.

Pocahontas took a DNA test and killed her chances. Biden apologized and killed his chances. Bernie is releasing his taxes which will kill his chances.

Trump just says 'F U' to the media trying to make an issue out of something. The craziest thing is, Trump is the most honest of all of them. We all know exactly who he is.

I dunno.....hard to determine honesty when we are so far removed from actual contact.
Folks have chiseled out who he is based on bias press and narratives, and believe it as fact, that is just stupid to assign fact to that.

I will offer he is the most blunt, and operates without filters....which, given his position of leader of the US, I believe is a necessary tool in communicating that office.
Yes, after all the lies and deceit, it is a change, just not sure if jumping from one fire, to another, is progress.....????
