Purdie is certainly a legend. He is a monster session player who has played on recording sessions for many famous bands.

Here is an interesting video from Toto drummer Jeff Porcaro, who incorporated the Purdie shuffle with a Bo Diddly influenced kick drum beat for the song "Rosanna"
