Title: Correct position of plate?
Post by Drifter.. on 11/02/18 at 12:30:18

What is the correct position of the plate that holds the needle in place in the slide?  Both holes open or both partially blocked or one blocked?  Some one was in this carb before me so i do not know what is right and the hayes manual has a blurry pic so i cant see the correct position.   Thanks in advance!

The plate is correctly located when it's equidistant between my fork and my knife.

Both holes (in the slide) open.
Align the slots (in the plate) with the holes.

There is a small dimple in the plate close to the jet needle .it must protrude downward or the plate is upside down.
