Well after 66291 kms, or 41192 miles approximately the dealer service book is full.

No freebees, just reliable starting and running.

Congratulations  there JC !  :)

This means you can do your  oil changes  now that the recommended stuff is over .   Oh yea and check the valve lash once ever 30,000 miles.

There just ain't that much to keeping a S-40/Savage running !    and that's a GOOD Thing !  ;)

What's a service book? My bike hasn't seen a dealer since it's first oil change(500 miles) ,23years ago.

Batman, I can't scan up the entire book but it's twenty odd page warranty, dealer location, warranty exclusion, dealer maintenance schedule, owner maintenance record for DIY people and an ad for Suzuki Genuine Parts.

I'm sort of in the same territory as Batman. After the dealer gave me the keys, that was the last time the dealer saw my bike. Nobody touches it. Not that I'm the greatest mechanic but I work cheap and I am conscientious. Who knows what the knowledge and or ability is of the mechanics at the dealer.  :)

Norm, has the right idea.  What good is a full service book going to do you if you have trouble on the road in the middle of "God's country" with no cellphone service?  You owe it to yourself to learn how to repair this bike , this bike is as basic as they come. Doing your own wrenching , allows you to know the condition of your bike ,and gives you the knowledge to effect repairs on the road if needed. this has allowed me to take trips of 800 to 2200 miles, with a basic tool kit (unused),  no cellphone, no GPS,  and best of all no apprehension.
