I had just started the bike and was doing a hard right out of my driveway. The bike stalled and I could not hold it up. So I dumped it at about 2 mph. I was able to just step over it, come back and pick it up. Boy am I glad this is a light bike. It was really super easy to pick up. Thank goodness no damage. I just had to readjust my right hand mirror. Oh, and I was lucky that nobody saw me. ;D

Dropping one like that is nothing.
When you are needing acceleration to stay in a turn, and it shuts off, you're Gonna be picking it up..

There isn't much you can do to save the situation when an engine stalls and you are in a tight slow turn. Glad you and the bike didn't suffer any damage.

When somebody tells me "I'm going to get a bike" ,
I always say the same thing :
Don't get no bike that weights more than twice what you do, because when you get into a wressleing match with that extra weight it woin't turn out good for ya !

Last summer I had just installed a new spring on my side stand , So ... I pulled up into the carport hitting neutral and kicking the side stand down as I stopped , but when I let the bike land on the kickstand ... it wasn't there ... so over we went . One roll and I was back on my feet , but "How embarrassing" :-[

You haven't seen the neighbors whispering have ya ?

Yea, I figured you guys would get a chuckle out of this. I really am glad no one saw it. I was trying to be quiet cause my neighbor across the street says my bike is loud. The heck wit being quiet any more though. I will gun it a bit more next time. Or wait a minute or so for it to warm up.

Do whatever you have to. If you're faster into the turn and don't lean in so hard, you can clutch and coast through.

The thing I like about the buckhorn bar is that it doesn't extend my left arm as much on low speed right hand turns. It's this effect that causes me to lose the friction zone...then the bike starts jerking on me, especially at low revs.

I keep rear brake covered for low speed turns, and I stay away from the front brake entirely (it acts like a magnet, sucking the bike to the ground).

I've picked up a motorcycle about 30 times. Even once this year, with my wife covering pillion (on a low speed right hand turn). First thing: hit that kill switch. Then, spout the appropriate number of cuss words. Then, and this will save a lot of trouble, put that side stick down. Now, lift with your butt.

Bike too heavy to lift? Oh, um, help wife off of downed motorcycle, then lift. :)

We've all dumped one at some point. I know I've made my share of mistakes. But worst I saw was a Goldwing rider who took off fast and left his side stand down. First curve, going fast, he hit the stand. Almost flipped him off the bike. Over corrected and hit a phone pole head on. Totaled the bike and left him in the hospital for 3 weeks.

Pilots say any landing you can walk away from is a good one. Sounds like the OP had a good landing.
