Title: Milestones
Post by Ed L. on 09/12/18 at 12:43:34

Had a milestone last month, hit 65 years old on August 23rd. It's not like I didn't expect to get this far, I just didn't think about when younger mainly because I was too busy raising hell in my own special way.
Now I've got a house, paid for, a wife which I'm still paying for and have pretty much achieved what is to be considered success in today's world.
darn, How did I get here?
Saw retirement pretty much kill my dad from inaction and boredom and am fighting to keep active just because it was an ugly way to go.
Time to start an old fart's bucket list. ;) Always wanted a 375 H&H magnum like my 30-06 doesn't kick enough LOL

Dad said the same thing about granddad.
He volunteered to deliver food/meals and other things.
You'll just have to get more involved in extended controls.
develop more products, remodel, fish, surf.

My Great, Great Grandmother said that we have to be careful that we do not let our work define us.

 Something to the effect of:

"If your work is your life, when the work is done, your life is done.  Be someone new everyday."

I was in maybe 7th grade and none of that made sense at the time.

It is amazing how the things our elders told us seemed cryptic and meaningless at the time. Yet those things turn out to be pearls ow wisdom when we have grown enough to understand them.

I retired six and a half years ago, no I'm not someone new every day, but I do agree about the your work is your life bit. I'd like to be riding at eighty plus, but that's eleven years away.

That's part of my old fart's bucket list, get more riding in. Twisted up my left shoulder a few months ago and have found riding to be a bit more challenging since then. Haven't even got the boat out this year either.
Can't cry over split milk and have some good years ahead.

I'll be 75 next birthday.
I am truly amazed that it is Sept 13, 2018 and I'm still here ;)

Ed.

I Retired … so long ago I have to think really hard to remember when !    Let's see … I was 53 and now I'm 65 … 12 years ago …

I don't know how I ever had time to work .    There are so many neat places to ride to and even the back roads around home are a source of Joy !

I've been inspiired by YouzGuyz in Texas.   Seems he rides every day ,

Yep , pure inspiration .    Just be sure to get a ride in EVER-DAY --- NO MATTER WHAT ELSE !   Unless its Raining !  ;D

Joining the local CMAUSA was a good move , having the SAVAGE Gang over yearly is another good move.   Going to visit some of my SAVAGE Bud's has been a REALLY FUN thing to do also.

I hope to do the Florida ride next year we got rained out of this year.

I hope your sholder heals up good !  ;)
