So, my lady friend got a good deal on a gently dumped s40 as her first bike. The only issue seemed to be a banged up saddle bag, and the bike broke the windshield when it fell. The handlebars were a bit loose, so after we got it home, i got to pulling off the bag, replacing the battery, and tightening up the handlebars. Well, it seems something between the top of the triple tree and the handlebars got bent as well. Once everything is torqued down, the handlebars are tweaked to the side. I'm guessing its just the stock riser, but it looks like its near to 200 bucks for a pair of them! A lot of websites are hesitant to say if universal parts will work, as well. So, i know it's a 1" handlebar.. Is the offset a metric size, or 3.5"" and what's the rise/pull on the factory risers? Can i get away with the sets that are two individual riders, or should i find one that is solid behind the handlebars, similar to the factory set? Thanks for the help, guys!

I had Verslagen make me pair of 3" risers that worked perfectly with the stock setup. They move the bars a bit lower and forward, perfect for me.

By the way, I'm sure if you want the stock setup there are plenty of people that have removed the stock risers and would be willing to help you out.

The risers are rubber mounted, try standing over the front wheel with your legs on each side holding it ,and twist the bars back straight. It's also possible that the front forks were misaligned when the bike was dropped , loosen the set bolts on the lower triple tree that clamp the fork tubes, and perform a similar procedure, then retighten the clamp bolts. Unless the bars or the upper fork tubes are really bent, this should be all you need to do .
