Title: Battery issues Post by Dad0220 on 08/14/18 at 06:08:37 Does anyone have an idea on what would cause a battery to drain after being charged a few hours earlier? The battery I have was purchased new a few months ago and I just started having issues with it. It will start my bike right after it's charged but not after I disconnect the charger and let it sit. First thought was a bad battery (dead cell). That doesn't appear to be the issue. When I shut down the Bike, I always check to make certain that the key is in the off position, not the position that keeps the parking lights on. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks. |

If it does, you have a parasitic drain on your electrical system, likely from a shorted wire before the ignition switch - or a bad switch itself. Do a search on the light bulb method of finding a shorted wire. |
