Title: She’s gone...,...
Post by raydawg on 08/11/18 at 20:13:10

I am no longer a Savage......
A young man brought his dad by, he rode it, and bought it.
He took it home.
Just got his endorsement, and will ride it to his sophomore year at college on the mainland, much like I did to work.
I gave him a lecture before I gave him the keys.
I tried to drive home the point that there is NO such thing as a fender bender on a motorcycle, nor “do-overs”
You have to stay engaged 110% if the time, and don’t take anything for granted....

Oh well, life is changing, it’s exciting, the “retirement” stage is a very nice change [ch128523]

Thanks for all the help, I learned a lot from you guys! [ch128536]

Ray ,

I believe :

You can take the Savage AWAY from the man , but you cant take the Savage OUT of the man .    Ain't nothing pulls like a big single  cylinder with all that low RPM Grunt !

I predict "There may be another big single in your future" .  ::)

:)

The V-Star just seemed like the Goldilocks size for me.

I'm keeping my SYM Wolf 150 for around town but for the highway it is too small.
The S40 is more bike than I need and it is quite hard on gas.
The V-Star is "just right" .....  8-)

Yours was a lot cleaner than mine.....
Remember, it sat outside at work.
Had some pitting, etc, but ran great.
I had the exact same bike as you Papa.

I bought 2 of them, because, unlike Suzuki, I realized they are not cruisers, but 'Standards'. I sold my Vulcan 500 last year after I got tired of grinding the mufflers in corners. 8-) cheers!
3 hour ride in the twisties yesterday verified my choice!
