What year was that bike? I have never heard that Guzzi's had a reputation for being unreliable. But.....anyone can get a lemon. We had a Subaru that was constant problems, while others have experienced great reliability. Another friend had a Can Am Spider that the factory could never get fixed - it limped home with the engine light on after every ride and eventually the dealer bought it back from him. |
Title: Re: What ya in Love with ? Post by MMRanch on 07/30/18 at 22:03:55 I've put 7,000 + miles on mine with no problem . 8-) The V-7 model is enjoying its 51 st. year production run in 2018. I understand the 850 Ambasator and the Calf.1200cc models are legidary for their reliablity too . and I know a fellow in Texas that has over 150,000 miles on a bike like my other two wheeler , the Suzuki LS-650 it's enjoying a 32 year production this year . Its true about not fixing what ain't broken . .................................... On the Guzzi site I red about two problems , both of them from years ago. One had to do with a spark plug cap and the other with a plastic fuel filter not liking blended fuel. :-? Both problem are long gone. |
Title: Re: What ya in Love with ? Post by faffi on 07/30/18 at 23:11:03 There is no denying that the small block series had lots of issues until the Breva 750, and the 4-valve heads had particular issues that meant top end failure was only a question about when, not if. Another long-standing issue with Guzzis have been the U-joint on the final drive, especially if rear wheel travel is increased. But as with most brands, Guzzis from the past quarter of a century are reliable. |
