On our Voodoo Vintage bobber, my buddy and I have decided to go with an Antigravity battery.

If you haven't seen them yet - you have to check them out!

Unbelievably light, unbelievably powerful!

It's so tiny, we're going to be able to keep it out of plain sight!

One drawback however, the stock regulator/rectifier will not work. Rick's Motorsports has a special Li version.

I'm curious if anyone on here has ever used these batteries before?

It's great if your riding a laptop , but not good if the bike can't recharge it.

Good one! Actually, we bought a specialty rectifier from Nick's Motorsports. Costs a little more, but it's all worth it.

These batteries were recommended to me so I bought a few. Four of the 16amp ones do not work. I bought the recommended charger for each battery (16 volt I think) and tried each battery on a different charger but never had enough juice to start a bike.

I have been running a Deltran Battery Tender Lithium BTL14A240C Battery
for about a year or more and so far so good. Only weighs a couple of pounds.
I use the standard s40 regulator/rectifier.

optimum charging occurs at 14v for lithium batteries (according to rick)
the savage charges at 13.3v

I'd say you are probably good to go as the four I am referring to didn't work from the day they were unboxed, so off to the recycling center they went.

Two of them worked just fine, they charge and they start the bikes.

Really? I didn't think the stock reg. would be able to stay under 14.4V. (that's the upper limit on the Antigravity batteries).

I'll have to take a look at the Deltrans.

Right - and from what else I've learned, the stock regulator spikes to well over 15V depending on load.

I went ahead and spent the extra money on the Rick's regulator. I'm not a fan of explosions. :)

Been running ag-801 for 2 seasons with a stock regulator. Left it in the bike all winter, no tender, fired right up. So far, it's been great.

I don't think the stock regulator produces a voltage of 15 volts, at any time , being the TCI ignition may be damaged by anything over 14 volts.

No, not constantly - but I've seen on an analog meter that it does spike well over 14V. At any rate, I'm not taking any chances.
