Title: WHITE LIGHT Post by MMRanch on 06/26/18 at 21:28:54 my new LED headlight came today and got adjusted tonight :). Item specifics Condition: New Brand: Unbranded Manufacturer Part Number: Does Not Apply Colour Temperature: 6000K No-polarity design: High low / Hi/lo / Far and near dual beam Input Voltage: DC9V-85V Warranty: 6 Month Lumen Flux: 1400lm Work Temperature: -40 celsius degree to + 105 celsius degree UPC: 6299123294272 1400 lumens … its about like the original blub (brightness) but it matches the led dual color (white/amber) running lights with clear lenses . The first LED bulb I tried had only one group of LED's with a series hookup for low and parallel hookup for bright so the bright indicator was always on ! :-[ I'm very pleased with this one 8-) YEA , Both elements emit on High Beam :) |
Title: Re: WHITE LIGHT Post by Dave on 06/27/18 at 03:48:46 I hope this light works - we (Tocsik and I) tried a similar Lasfit LED bulb that was built similar to this - but had a fan inside the headlight. The LED would fog up the inside of the headlight glass up after just a few hours.....the glass ended up looking like frosted bathroom window. |

I have not tried it. It looks to be a four sided bulb and would maybe give a more similar light pattern to a regular H4 bulb. |

Title: Re: WHITE LIGHT Post by Dave on 06/27/18 at 05:20:15 Antmanbee: If you don't see a cooling fan, fins or heat sink of some sort....you can be sure that it does not put out enough light to be anything more than a daytime running lamp or parking light. If you want a headlight that is functional at night - it will make enough heat that it has to be cooled. MMRanch: Give that light a try at night, and let us know what the beam pattern is like and how well it lights up the road. Then give the Lasfit light you have another try. It is the best low cost LED I have found, and it has a nice even beam pattern and good low beam cutoff. First mount the metal base plate in the light assembly and clip the spring: http://i67.tinypic.com/2wqsqo2.jpg Then push the rubber dust seal over the metal base. It has a slightly larger OD....so you need to push a little harder to get it seated: http://i66.tinypic.com/kcayaf.jpg Then insert the LED and rotate it so the wire is pointing down. Then plug it into your wiring harness and turn the headlight low beam on......and rotate the LED until you get the best focus of the low beam cutoff. http://i67.tinypic.com/4ufhwp.jpg I think you will like the light output and pattern from the Lasik better than the one you are currently trying.......those tend to make a very flat and wide beam pattern that doesn't shine down the road very far. The bulbs can be bought a bit cheaper than when I purchased: https://www.walmart.com/ip/LASFIT-H4-9003-HB2-LED-Headlight-Kits-COB-Flip-Chips-Adjustable-Beam-60W-7600LM-6000K-Dual-Hi-Lo-Beam-Bulbs-Pack-of-2/144417932?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=6808&adid=22222222227107217744&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=233555967750&wl4=pla-386320491501&wl5=9014427&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=118916995&wl11=online&wl12=144417932&wl13=&veh=sem https://www.ebay.com/itm/LASFIT-LED-Headlight-H4-9003-Conversion-Kit-High-Low-Beam-Replace-Halogen-Bulbs-/122068694558 |
Title: Re: WHITE LIGHT Post by MMRanch on 06/27/18 at 06:43:23 The rubber boot is different on mine (2005). The boot's center hole is the same dia. as the hole for the bulb (won't go over or in) and both boot and bulb holder want the same space … it would take trimming the boot to fit and I don't want to cut on it. I should buy the matching one you have and put them in my truck ! ;) ………………………………... The new bulb I just installed will light up a black mail box from 200 yards or a white shirt from twice that distance. Its about the same as the original blub . I'd like for the difference from high to low be more … but that is the reflector's fault ! I'm getting by with the 5.5" just fine and know the 7" would be better but ::). That would mean work ! ;D |
Title: Re: WHITE LIGHT Post by MMRanch on 06/27/18 at 09:59:55 Hay ! I've got one like this: Its not really got High/Low beam - its got Bright and dim with the same focus on both. A "Smart" friend of mine explained it to me not long ago: The top light bounces off the top of the reflector and shines down The bottom light bounces off the bottom of the reflector and shines up Simple enough if ya think about it . Because the same elemits burn on High and Low then the bright indicator shins Bright and Dim just like the Headlight does. ;) So , if its got more than a top and bottom lights ... it can't really have a High beam and Low beam . Maybe High power and Low power ? |
Title: Re: WHITE LIGHT Post by antmanbee on 06/27/18 at 15:32:41 I had assumed that with four, that low beam would be the top two on and high would be all four, with top and bottom on. But as I said I do not have these bulbs. I do check out various options periodically, mostly for the possibility of lower power draw as I don't really ride at night much. |
