Title: Simple question...
Post by raydawg on 06/22/18 at 07:13:47

Should we have quotas on immigration?

We need to balance population and jobs.
We need to compensate for the drop in births.

Immigration is important
But there is a definite problem with too much.
An overflowing labor pool creates unemployment and pushes wages down.

Jog, it also pushes down the quality of living, of the “middle class”
Which is the greatest element needed for a democracy to function.

Shall we just give everyone a million dollars who ask?
Would that solve their problems of health, housing, etc?
Remove the “red tape” that absorbs so much of the cost to implementing social programs....
Just line up, ask, and cut a check, no questions asked, or no requirements needed.
Will that solve all these problems?

The question isn't simple when you bring in all the other components.

 To your question:  Yes.

To all the additional follow up:

Shall we just give everyone a million dollars who ask?

 No.

Would that solve their problems of health, housing, etc?

Only housing, many health conditions can not be treated.  Etc. means all other things and does not provide enough information to answer.

"Remove the “red tape” that absorbs so much of the cost to implementing social programs....

No.  Just the 6000 mothers that's been in the latest arguments would run cost to 6 Billion.

I think you missed the essences of my reply.

Let me ask you thusly, "Has wealth provided the Kennedy's with a happy life, free from pain and heartache?"

If everyone is a millionaire prices just inflate.

I don't know.  I thought the simple question had to do with immigration quotas, and now its about the happiness of a wealthy family.

Sorry, been too busy to post/reply......

Jog sorta alluded to it in the above post.

Man defaults to money, as a fix all.
Yes, money gives you more options/choices, but does it really fix the underlying cause?

I suggest it doesn't.
Morality and charity can only work as intended when it is free and sincere giving.
If folks gave of themselves, to a neighbor in need, the person would get 100% of the support, as well as a friendship, the giver, would reap amazing HEALTHY self-worth.

Yes, these folks in need that travel so far at a chance at prosperity and a better way of life, need help, that is a fact, however, to think that us giving to them unfettered support that contradicts our laws of sovereignty, will be the answer is foolishness and only invites more confusion.
They are being used as a pawn, to get Trump.
Obama had opportunity to deal with this issue in his first term, but didn't.....
I think we all know why.

The repair to all of this is to lift all nations/countries to prosperity, so folks can stay in their native lands.
Yes, its a complex issue, and exposes the USA to "nation building" under their own" ideals of what is right.

I will use China as a example how it seems to be working.
Their poverty level is humongous, as is most of Asia's, but because of the influences of capitalism in their respective countries, they have experienced a widening of distribution of economic opportunities, which is shrinking that poverty level.

Until we quit playing every problem from a politico party angle, these problems won't be resolved any time soon, and kids will still be crying, only the journalist will have moved on to a new problem.

It seems like I am contradicting myself, and I am in a sense.
But I believe if everyone was their brothers keeper, first, then it would prove the need for the "fix" as moot.

Does that help?

Re: money equaling a happy and stable society, the Kennedy's was just my example at proving my reasoning it doesn't.
Would you change places with Micheal Jackson, famous and rich, and ?
(Yes, I know he is deceased, I am talking if he was still alive.)

Well, not knowing the full degree of accuracy in requiring the required possible funding, and not knowing which source would be readily available, I was finally able to find funding, to be able to fund a answer.  Granted, after the funding request went through all the proper channels, and was thoroughly,  painstakingly, and methodically examined for any error or omissions. The amount of funding, left to answer, was enough for two words.

Completely free? No, of course not.
Better? Absolutely.
Let's face it, life is better if you've got money. Life is easier for pretty people. Life in the US is in fact easier for whites and educated Asians today.

That's the way it is.

Money won't buy happiness.
Poverty doesn't buy much either.
