Without damaging the paint? I just bought a clean 1996 Savage, but just feel it would look better without them.

Thanks!

Take a hair dryer and put some heat on it. Don't heat it too hot but it warms up good, it will peel right off. A little wd 40 on a rag will clean the leftover glue off.

I tried that. It was still a PITA to remove.

If I remember it was a combination of heat and solvent. Be careful of the paint.

The
Easiest way is
Set the tank somewhere safe
Light that sucker up
And watch those pesky decals
Melt away.

Such ease and convenience costs a lot

Hair dryer and wd40. It sucks and isn’t fast, but will work well with clean results. Goo gone can be used in place of wd40. Heat and pick the edges with a fingernail...bit by bit...

This method works really good on a new bike.

Took mine off two weeks ago, heat gun and WD-40. Decals came off, Piece by piece, painstaking slow. WD-40 removes the glue, but it too was a slow process. Results look great. Fwiw

The best solvent to use is gasoline to clean up. Just have some on a rag and keep applying it as you peel the sticker up. Then finish off with same.
