Title: Leaking Carb / cranks but won't start Post by edison on 04/22/18 at 11:38:27 I have a 2012 Savage (1100 miles) with original battery that has been put up for over a year with Stabil in the tank. I only have a battery tender....but I am guessing that the battery's life has reached its end just based on age alone, so I will replace it. The leaking carb I 'm guessing was due to a stuck float (?)....no leakage until the petcock was turned to Prime. I tapped the carb with a dowel to see if that would free it and that seemed to work (no more leaking). FWIW, I will try coaxing it to start once the battery is charged. Am I in the ballpark? Gel battery suggestions? Thanks! |
