Title: 2019 Honda Monkey 125

This thing looks like a blast to ride.  Used to ride a trail 90 back in the early 80's but this bike has a lot of modern tech in it.

What is that huge grey box above the cylinder?

''What is that huge grey box above the cylinder?''

I'm hopeing it is the housing for the flux capacitor.

Here is my 1968 - they look a bit similar.

Mine is 1.95 HP at 5000 rpm, 50cc, 3 speed auto clutch, drum brakes.

The new 125cc version will likely have a lot more power!

In my 10-12 year old days I had a TS-50 and CT70H. My best friend had a Z50 and we traded often...sometimes overnight. So I have some very fond memories of a '69-'70 Z50. First wheelie, Z50. First donut, Z50. First bike I ever beat in a race, Z50. The CT70 and Z50 were unstoppable and so were their riders. We would fill up our fuel tanks in the morning and ride all day on thousands of acres of woods, fire roads and powerline right of ways. If there is in fact a heaven, it will be traveled by small horizontal cylinder Hondas...no wings for me.

The Monkey 125 is based on the Grom 125, a bike that is loved by all that have ridden on one. I would love to have a Z125...er...Monkey 125 in my garage - but I will end up having the same circular conversation with myself as I did when the Grom hit the market; I'd love one...what am I gonna do with it and where can I ride it. This debate will go one...until...a friend has the same conversation with him/her self. Then it on!

It's cool, but just not sure it's the right commuter bike for a 6'3", 250 lb, fifty-year-old guy.

Like Gary said, it would be a circular conversation with myself and followed by a conversation with my wife that has her eyes  ::) ::)

I know the feeling ,I live in upstate N.Y. and everyone asks why I don't own a snowmobile or a 4 wheeler , I just tell them it's because I can't ride either one to California and back.

Wow Dave that's a sharp mini trail ! I remember riding those in 68 but my 3 H/P Nova minibike was a tad faster but a tad slower than the CT70. That's when I was infected with this terrible crippling two wheeled disease that I am still plagued with still today. Getting better , got another bad disease/hobby that is helping ease the pain. ;D ;D ;D
