An eruption, although unlikely, would be a real game changer here. Fortunately, prevailing winds are from the southwest, so, much like the St Helens eruption in 1980, most of the ash fall would go east and land on Wenatchee, Moses Lake, and Yakima. But the mud flows would wipe out the Puyallup and Nisqually valleys, killing thousands. On a lighter note, homes and real estate would become affordable again! |

The CEO wanted to see the damage from the eruption for himself so we flew around it. It was incredible! Most of the top of the mountain simply disappeared. And the damage to our trees was terrible. :'( Mother Nature and all that. Our puny efforts don't even come close. |
