Where your first grandchild is concerned, there are no spendings limits at all ! At the moment you may think there are but you will find yourself buying things over the weeks and months and all of a sudden you will have a room full of things before he or she is ever born.
Is this a child of your son or daughter ?

Greatest thing about being a "Popi" is that YOU are not longer responsible to take care of them! You can spoil them, and hand them back to their mom and dad to deal with it.

I am reminded of a line in the movie "Return to Me."

The wife (Bonnie Hunt) says this about her husband (Jim Belushi) when he takes care of the kids:

"He gets them all sugured up and then I have to detox them on my watch!"

Well... the same goes for grandparents!

Thank you, everyone.

It's my son's child. He and his wife have been married for two years and together for about 4 before that. I've sort of been wondering when I was gonna get a grandbaby.

Yeah...I've already been thinking of ways to spoil him/her before returning to mom and dad. Been thinking about what kind of stuff I can get for the baby too. Baby is due in August so I've still got time to come up with lots of stuff. :)

Make sure you buy a good camera, and take lots of pictures,they grow up fast ,and you 'll want to share the memories .congrats!

I've got a nice Nikon DSLR so I got that one covered. I will definitely be taking lots of pictures.
