Man's best friend has been with us 15,000 years and some say twice that long. Might be the smartest animal yet , trading being a guardian for food and a warm place to sleep and companionship ! When your dog wants to lick your face , in the dogs world he is showing respect for the alpha dog , You ! They return the love you give them ten fold. Your wife could leave you , you could be evicted , you could loose you job and you dog will always be happy to see you , to brighten your somber mood.
