Title: Front fender clearance-new tire ! Post by zipidachimp on 08/27/17 at 01:10:41 There is minimal to no fender clearance after installing my new Kenda 657 100/90-19. I can hear it squeak when I roll it into the garage. Will this present a problem or will it simply rub off excess rubber? :o (mech installed) |

Title: Re: Front fender clearance-new tire ! Post by Dave on 08/27/17 at 03:48:42 Loosen the mounting bolts, and see if you can slide the fender up a bit to get some clearance. If not....you could remove the fender and use a round file to get a bit more adjustment. |
Title: Re: Front fender clearance-new tire ! Post by zipidachimp on 08/27/17 at 10:38:47 I tried the mounting bolts before I brought it home. Will try the 'hole' thingy next. Thanks. 8-) |

Title: Re: Front fender clearance-new tire ! Post by zipidachimp on 08/28/17 at 21:34:05 Big surprise! zero evidence of tire rubbing when I removed the fender. There is a tiny lip on the inside of the leading edge that I removed with a Dremel, file and rust-oleum. Also, the leading edge mounting holes are oval, which I enlarged. Bonus: new tires are fresh-2217 code. I must be a 'nervous nelly'. :-[ |
