Title: Eclipse

Light does magical things.

).

For example, cross the outstretched, slightly open fingers of one hand over the outstretched, slightly open fingers of the other, creating a waffle pattern. With your back to the sun, look at your hands’ shadow on the ground. The little spaces between your fingers will project a grid of small images on the ground, showing the sun as a crescent during the partial phases of the eclipse. Or just look at the shadow of a leafy tree during the partial eclipse; you'll see the ground dappled with crescent Suns projected by the tiny spaces between the leaves.
A solar eclipse is one o

Interesting experiment.

On the news this morning, they said that for those who are in the 'totality" areas - you will be able to scan the horizon and it will look like there is a sunset in every direction!

My #12 welding glass is great.
Binoculars projection is good
Pinholes aren't hitting great, not part of a hood.
Not to the Best part yet.

It's not over, but it peaked about fifteen minutes ago. Almost no losses to clouds.

It was cool viewing with my H/F welding helmet. It was very strange all the birds & animals were dead silent from beginning to end with strange colors changing as it passed thru probably smog I would guess.

Watched at work.  Only 95% totality, not completely dark.  Surreal experience.  No traffic on the streets, animals quiet, temperature dropped 15 degrees,  store front lights coming on.  Almost like an old Twilight Zone episode were all the people disappeared.

Watched it today.  I'd type more but I can't see anything.  ;D

Watched it.  Not much here with about 80% coverage and light cloud cover.  I would not have known it was going on if it hadn't been for the media hype.  Birds and animals carried on as usual.

Seems it was better further east

Watched it here.  About 99% totality.  If I were about 30 miles west, it would have been total.  Was neat. I watched with a welding helmet also.

Lights came on. Birds all got quiet. Began to hear a few crickets.

Bot , I had very similar pics on my old phone from the last S/E. It's all surreal, but very cool, all the differences you can notice when it's happening. It was dead still & dead quiet for almost an hour here !

We went north for 2.5 hours to be right on the center line , and it was fantastic  8-)

We stopped at a Sonic and enjoyed a blast while the Sun was getting covered .   It was like a 360 deg. Sun-Set  ... And ... a 360 deg. sun rise .   The Sunrise seemed quicker than the set  ?
I took my auto darkling welding helmet but what worked best was these two pair of flip-up welding goggles that I've had for years and never use for welding (auto darkling is just to easy).

Really good Family day out !  ;)
