Title: A mechanical 12v DC-> 120v AC inverter.

An interesting hack using a relay to buck a 12v DC circuit, then he steps it up with a  1:10 transformer to 120vac.

Probably more of a toy(ca. 3 watts) than a useful inverter, but still interesting. It sort of reminds me of breaker points, but without the distributor cam.

Old car radios had vibrators in them to do the same job, step up the voltage for the vacuum tubes.

Clever little device and I never knew about the old automotive radios using a vibrator to interrupt the DC input.
