Title: Rejetting
Post by Sosacj21 on 08/04/17 at 15:19:33

Hey guys so I have a 2017 Suzuki S40 and recently installed a Jardine Slash Cut slip on muffler. After doing this I noticed very hard popping on upshift and deceleration so I'm assuming I am running super lean. My question is do I need to purchase a rejet kit from say Dyno or something or is there something else I can do to keep from running lean???

IF you can get it jetted to not pop constantly it's gonna be obnoxiously loud, have a good top end and use the gas. Mine came with one, but the backfires eventually caused the rivet that kept the guts in to fail. It shat them in the road where I was downshifting to hit a curve. I should have checked the header bolts..

Yes, rejet.

I sell JETSETS, but whether you get them from me or another source use Mikuni jets.  The ones Dynojet sells are odd sizes and use a different numbering system, making it hard if asking advice on jetting/tuning since we don't speak their language around here.
Since you now have a Jardine you will need at a minimum a 52.5 & 55 pilot jets and 152.5 & 155 main jets.  Which combination you end up needing depends on your machine.  They do vary in their needs.

A washer Is under the main jet.
That's not something to lose.

That was actually going to be my next question. Is it better to go with Dyno or just go with bigger Mikuni jets. I've had recommendations from 1 shop to go to a 55 pilot and 152.5 Main or 155 max

Also, make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks.  Hard to jet a bike with exhaust leaks.

Ohio too is absolutely correct, it is essential that there be NO exhaust leaks.  The easiest way to check is to use a candle, holding it close to the head/header & header/muffler connections.  It is easy to see if the flame or smoke is disturbed.

The JETSET is $29.95 and you can send that to my PayPal, savage.s40@gmail.com.
