I was reading the thread about the speedo cable leak. A bonded sealing washer from Home Depot was recommended. I can't seem to see the pictures in that thread. "Image shack?" keeps popping up. Anyone have the part number? Sorry if I have asked this question in the wrong place...I'm new to this.

I'd buy the proper oil seal. How much can it cost and it will probably seal better than anything else.

Granted, it was an older thread but, my impression was that there was no seal available or that it did not work well?

I used a Too big o-ring, cut at an angle. Didn't leak.

That "Bonded Sealing Washer" was an early thread....the proper oil seal is listed in the Tech Section under the "Leaks" heading. I realize the first post is a new member and he may not yet know about the Tech Section and the Table of Contents for the items listed. (You really can find a lot of good information in the Tech Section......if you look).
