Are you seeing Christmas themed stuff, not THE immediate thrust of the commercial, but inside it, little nudges to be thinking about it?
The only reason I can come up with is retailers are expecting a lousy year.
The herds of idiots trampling each other to get the precious toy are diminishing, I think. I HOPE, anyway..
Discretionary spending is down,because people are not prosperous.
High unemployment takes its toll.

No not seeing Christmas crap yet.
BayArea I believe has record low unemployment,but Central Valley may differ !
Fuel prices low and lots of new cars otr !
Thousands of cars being off loaded every week in north bay.
Usually start seeing that crap a week before Halloween !
