Title: 2017 S40.
Post by norm92de on 07/06/17 at 13:20:02

FWIW,
I went to my local Suzuki dealer today. They had two S40s in stock.
The current serial# is around 2200 420. Also, contrary to Suzuki's advertising the wheel spokes are the same as ours, cadmium plated, not S.S. as claimed.

After looking a few times I prefer the shiny finish. Blacked out is in vogue to be sure.

I seriously doubt they're cad plated, unless they are using up stock they can't send to europe.
They got a serious twist over a lot of substances over there.
It's pretty close to can't have it on the tools you use to make parts with.

Some SS is magnetic
Some isn't

If a magnet doesn't stick, its SS.

If it sticks, it might be SS,,

Versy,
Whatever they are plated with they are plated, not SS.
Also, I noticed that the belts on both of them were not as tight as Suzuki recommends.
In other words, not set to the gauge Suzuki puts out. I could twist both of them more or less to 90* with a bit of effort.

I am pretty particular about spokes having had to put up with the British standard of, look like hell, in as short a time as possible in our wet climate. :'(

Cheezy spokes, crappy clear coat on the Pre Black engines,

My two complaints.
Ohhh, the light..
