Title: Louder horn Post by JLC on 07/03/17 at 08:54:41 Has anybody here changed their stock horn for a louder one? If so, what horn did you fit? |
Title: Re: Louder horn Post by Tocsik on 07/03/17 at 09:57:05 There's a bunch of threads about aftermarket horns and even adjusting the stock horn. Try the search function. I run FIAMM El Grande horns. It's a dual horn setup and I mounted them where the reflectors sit on the frame. |
Title: Re: Louder horn Post by Ruttly on 07/03/17 at 10:14:32 I uses Harley horn update kit its loud but it 50 bucks. But it mounts to stock bracket fine , then I found it rubs my Ryca tank , so it got relocated to the top of right rear motor mount but that location won't work on a stocker , pretty sure it won't rub a stock tank. |
Title: Re: Louder horn Post by JLC on 07/03/17 at 10:21:50 Thanks for the responses. I did search "horn" before posting, but that did not turn up anything useful. I will check out both the Fiamm El Grande and the Harley one. Thanks again. |

Title: Re: Louder horn Post by Ruttly on 07/03/17 at 12:12:52 Thanks Versy, sorry I'm not as computer smart as I know I could be if had the time to learn it. Thanks for digging that up , but your right I wouldn't even know how to find it ! ;D |
Title: Re: Louder horn Post by ohiomoto on 07/03/17 at 12:21:32 Will this work? http://https://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com/img/group/main/42/4253_1_lg.jpg |
Title: Re: Louder horn Post by Rodger on 07/03/17 at 14:41:43 I put a set of the Harb Frt $10 horns on my 2001 Toyota Highlander. (For an SUV, it had a horn comparable to an early 70s Honda 100. WIMPY!!) The kit included a relay, but no wiring. Still, was able to mount right behind the plastic grill, about an hour's work. On a motorcycle, my concern would be with the mounting studs possibly being too fragile. But for $10...? P.S. -- I had one of these mini air horns on my Kaw Nomad, built in mini-compressor, no hoses to fool with: https://m.harborfreight.com/bad-boy-air-horn-94117.html. A bit ugly, but LOUD...for more $$, it's available in chrome. |
Title: Re: Louder horn Post by ero4444 on 07/05/17 at 14:10:57 Fiamm also makes "Freeway Blaster" horns in low and high tone, you can mount both for more punch thru the texting. You'd also need a relay and socket like HELLA H84709001 Iso Weatherproof Relay Connector with 12" Leads https://www.amazon.com/HELLA-H84709001-Weatherproof-Relay-Connector/dp/B000VU9D0C |
Title: Re: Louder horn Post by LANCER on 07/05/17 at 14:54:34 I still cannot get the video to transfer, but the name of the one I have is the WOLO Bad Boy. |
Title: Re: Louder horn Post by Tocsik on 07/06/17 at 11:10:33 Yeah, all my old posts with pics and videos have been screwed by Botophucket's new policy. The horn thread was one of them. The FIAMM El Grande is a set of dual tone freeway blasters (high and low tone). Twenty bucks on the Amazon river. |

I had a pair before, sound was really good but they're took up a lot of space. The Bad Boy is a bit louder and way smaller. It is a mini 2-tone air horn. |
