Title: small lug /bracket  on frame.

Does anybody know the purpose of the lug that is welded on to the frame on the left side near the side stand? It gets in the way when lifting the bike,

I  don't have one. Not near the bike right now.

I believe it's there to reinforce the frame , to prevent cracking where the peg and side stand forging bolts in ,two of the three bolts are through bolts so the stress is spread across both sides of the frame and the motor case, but the lower forward bolt only goes through the left side frame ,on a bend ,and when the bike's kick stand is down gets the most stress ,even more so if leaned with driver/passenger weight.
