Title: User Savage_Greg?
Post by Andy RN on 05/28/17 at 12:55:40

I'm reading about the "plug/cap leak" and Savage_Greg made a great thread about it. He also made the Savage Companion CD - and probably more that I'm unaware of. According to his profile, he hasn't posted since 2012. Anyone know what happened to him? I hope he's doing well.

I'm not sure, or I forgot what I didn't know.

He got fed up and left.
Haven't had any recent contact with him.
Last time was when he allowed his cd to be downloaded.
But he went on with his life, working on m/c's in his shop.

There was a time on the list where it wasn't very calm or nice.   We had two major trolls who liked to kick up a major fuss all the time and one guy who thought it was cute to offer bogus advice to newbies asking questions in Rubber Side Down.

The old moderator (a single person) had basically given up on the job and more than a few good folks left in disgust during that period of time.   Greg was one of these.

Since then the issues have all been corrected and we have a stable staff of 3 nice moderators, we have a place on the list where peckish folks can go fuss with each other in PRIVATE, while doing it nicely enough and not bothering the rest of us any whatsoever and nobody posts any BS at newbies who are asking a question.

Things have been running along pretty good for the last longest ....   We host our multiple yearly motorcycle trips for list members and we are noted as a place to come for known good knowledge about Savages, mods, etc. etc.    We even get questions about other brands of bikes occasionally because the on-line forums for that brand are weak, gone missing or broken.   Many of us own multiple bikes and can generally answer or direct folks to where they can get their answer.

Greg has returned periodically, but he does not stay for very long as his retirement bike repair business is doing well.
