OK.

Who buys ammo through the internet here?
Where do you shop?
Why do you shop there?

Thanks.

Give me your donuts and you won't get hurt..

I don't shoot for fun.
I am going out for my semi-onceinawhile practice session.  CFO wanted to know how much ammo I had.  Told her.  She said "not enough".

I think Cheaper Than Dirt will ship.
And if you have a 22 that is not auto feed you can get some shells that are only primer and a light lead. A pellet gun is louder than a 22 rifle.

If you only want 100 rounds or so, go to Walmart and look for the value pack of 100-200 rounds. Also look for the weekly ads from the local sports stores, they often have some of the common target ammo on sale.

If you buy in bulk, there are several places that will ship free if you buy 500-1000 rounds. Free shipping and no sales tax usually makes it a little less $$$ OTD than buying local. I'd post a link to a vendor that I have used several times but I'm not sure of the forum's rules on posting links. PM me if you need it.

Midway, Sportsman world, Graff's and Cabella's all have sales on bulk ammo depending on what you shoot. Even my local gun store has good prices on bulk military surplus ammo.
Unless you are looking for an oddball caliber stay off Gunbroker.com the listings run a little high on prices imo.

There are a few websites that specialize in daily specials. Midway and Cabellas run good weekly specials.

Cheaper Than Dirt isn't exactly cheap on their prices.

Shop around. I catch deals on Midway USA, Primary Arms, and Palmetto State Arms quite often.

Try:
https://www.ammograb.com/
http://findmeammo.com/
http://ammoseek.com/

I use the bottom one most.
These sites, direct you to the companies that sell.
then you have to order from them.

Shipping Ammo,  UPS,  Adult 'proof' when you order.
  (Unlike Citizen Proof, to vote)
Be their when it comes.

As long as you are Not in a Restricted State/County/Town/Township.
They will ship, and the company you buy from will know which is which.

Buying On Line, No problem.
Just carefully know ALL, the shipping.
Many times, Very Low price on ammo, but with, 'hidden' shipping, it will cost more per round, than another better quality round, with free or less shipping.

And I never, order, on line.
(Get the prices and #'s,  sure)
But CALL them.
Never enter your Credit Card on Line.
