Wow. This sucks.

Great motorcycle racer, all around good guy. Nicky started his career in flat track, and was one of the best before moving to road racing. Hoping for the best, but this looks bad.

He's riding for Honda in the world Superbike series right now. Struggling with a bike that isn't up to snuff yet.

The Kentucky Kid is just an all around good guy and a great competitor. I hope he recovers well enough where he finds himself competitive on a race track again. But at this point, I just hope he recovers.

I've got some experience with bent cars and busted windshields. I did bodywork for three years. The forces required to break up that safety glass so much and distort the roofline are significant. That he wasn't dead at the scene is a testament to how rugged the human body is. The prognosis is not good, IMO.

This is pretty neat.

2002 Springfield TT

Nicky was a full time road racer in 2002  and only entered a few flat track events that year. Won the daytona 200 and the AMA Superbike championship.

That's so screwed up. Killed while riding a bicycle.
