Note the study where it reports Blacks and Hispanic make up 20 percent of the population but only hold 5 percent of the jobs in liberal strongholds..... That will be a deciding factor in future elections, jobs.... But if we are talking election battelfields the population will still be concentrated on the liberal coasts for along time. Economic opportunity may improve in flyover country as the article suggests, but elections are a numbers game. |

It has long been the policy of the US Government to keep blacks in ghettos in the inner cities; thus the welfare handouts help keep them fed, but not healthy or mobile. These cities are also the center of power for the whacko Democrats who of late have controlled the party. So, the wealthy are happy cause the only blacks and Hispanics that are going up country are in the back of pickups filled with economic slaves culled from worker pool corners. Look how TT says I am not a registered democrat because I do NOT meet his criteria of what a democrat is suppose to be. Well I say my momma, papa, and many others voted in the party, gave it the power to enact and foster middle class growth and opportunities, HIS party seems to only desire dependency upon the leaders, I say he doesn't know the real democrats that work hard and rely on themselves for their own self worth.... |

Most in the ghetto have been dealt a raw deal for generations that hope is lost, and a way of life is ingrained. I saw a ps commercial with morgan freeman where he said success is available to all. It is, but the desire has to outweigh the hopelessness by a factor of 10. Throw in a dash of talent and luck and you're there. |

The culture of hopelessness and helplessness, and the utter destruction of anything resembling a stable family structure, or a viable community, in the blighted inner city progressive paradises has gone on for too long, A huge percentage of those folks have simply given up. When the handouts exceed the rewards of the struggle, why would they want the struggle? Or even recognise the possibility? Certainly there will be exceptions. But the success stories amount to a trickle. The ghettos are getting bigger, not smaller. And they will continue to do so. Platitudes about "opportunity" "pulling oneself up by ones bootstraps", "ability to better oneself when set free", etc, etc. are not going to change that. The number of those who escape the trap will always be dwarfed by the numbers of those that don't. We can wish it was otherwise if we want. But it isn't. . |
