Title: speedo illumination?????? Post by madmikesmech on 05/15/17 at 09:11:14 Hello every one, I am new to the Savage .com forum. And new yo the Savage motorcycle also. This may sound stupid... but, does the stock speedo on a 1999 have a light in the face? All the indicator, and other lights work but the dial itself is dark! That makes it a real bastard to see how fast I'm going after dark or in the morning on my way to work!! Thanks in advance Mike |

The darn thing is 18 years old! It's about time for a new bulb! ;)\ It you buy some LED's....they will be brighter, last longer and you can get them in colors! (I believe the bulbs are miniature wedge, and that the speedometer light was 3 watt, and the indicator lights were 1.7 watts). https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/led-light-bulbs-universal-finder/filter/Base_Type,Miniature_Wedge,1,3995:Volts_Typical,12,100,3898: |

Yep.....you can change the bulbs without remove the speedometer from the tank....they just plug into the back. |
Title: Re: speedo illumination?????? Post by Tocsik on 05/15/17 at 13:44:10 You'll get used to taking the tank off. Really no big deal after a while. 8-) |
Title: Re: speedo illumination?????? Post by justin_o_guy2 on 05/15/17 at 16:28:46 Just prepare a place to park the tank, up high enough to not crimp the speedometer cable. |
