Title: RYCA tank with raptor Post by Ruttly on 04/30/17 at 14:58:45 I average 115 miles before I hit reserve with my RYCA fuel tank with the real raptor petcock. Give or take depending on how I'm riding it. Question to the RYCA owners here , is this good , average or bad ? Keep in mind I don't know how accurate the RYCA speedo is. I'm seeing that $300 GPS Speedo in my near future. Maybe a air/fuel ratio gauge too ! |

Title: Re: RYCA tank with raptor Post by Gary_in_NJ on 04/30/17 at 18:21:18 Real Raptor here too. My main takes exactly 1.5 gallons - if I rock and shake the bike for the last 0.25 gal. That usually gets me 70 miles or so. I've never really pushed into the RES too far, and I don't plan to either. As soon as I hit RES I immediately go to a gas station. |

Real Raptor you say? I ordered a 'Raptor fuel petcock', how can I tell if'n it's the real Raptor? Does it say Raptor on it, or made in japan, or what? |
Title: Re: RYCA tank with raptor Post by Ruttly on 04/30/17 at 21:50:29 Marked with Yamaha & Yamaha part # & in a white box. Lots of junk Chinese copies out there on eBay. Got mine direct from Lancer , he only sells the real deal. Yeah I'm thinking 70-75 miles before reserve sounds more like it. I will figure it out to a gnats a$$ when I get my GPS Speedo. Will have to calculate mpg & log fuel ups. The speedo & odo are said to be deadly accurate. Peel the harness open one more time and move ignition switch & idiot lights off fuel tank & weld up the plate & powder coat. |
