Hay all
the springs to my side stand came a part when i went to put it down at work today, can someone post a pic of how they are meant to be assembled as I'm not shore if I found all the parts
(using a shoelace to hold stand up isn't the best setup but it got me home)

There should be two springs ,one inside the other,the trick is to place washers or quarters in between the coils to extend the length of the spring ,replace it and then remove the spacers.(so I hear).

The washer/coin trick is a good one,.. but you need to do it before you remove the springs, while the stand is extended...

You can bend the spring left/right and get the washers inserted into a spring.

Or stick one end in a vise and extend using a ratchet strap.

Hay thanks for all the help, looks like I'm missing one of the springs

This is just a guess - but maybe they used 2 smaller springs so you can pull on them by hand and get them mounted - a single spring might be too strong.

You can buy...or make a spring puller to help you get them on.

There are a ton of part list diagrams online for our bikes...I'd also recommend the Clymer manual, that book is truly invaluable!
