Good morning friends,
I continue adjusting my small and precious acquisition.
Another small problem. After investigating a strange noise that made the Savage to me, I have discovered that it was a stone embedded in the belt.
Now, after solving the noise comes the question.
Would it be convenient to reinstall it?
I also discovered that the belt is cracked.
I have a spare one, but it's in a similar condition to the one I've taken away.
What do you advise me? Can I still use both?
I have to buy a new one. Where? And is there any alternative to our belts more economical and equally reliable?

My opinion: If youre belt has a tear, hole, rip or whatever, its probably best to replace it. Especially since youre half way there already. Youre gonna hate yourself if you have to push your bike home, then spend a day tearing it apart just to install something that coulda been done prior.

P.s. if you have trouble finding a belt in your price range, i have one id be willing to part with. its got a few miles on it but still in better condition than that. 8-)

The cracks on the outside of the belt indicate the belt was run too tight. It is better to run the belt too loose....than too tight.

You should be able to twist the bottom of the belt 90 degrees using your thumb and finger.....and just a bit of pressure. There is a video in the Tech Section.

It likely is best to replace this belt....unless you are just running around town and never more than a few blocks from home!

There is no "cheap" alternative....even trying to find a Bando belt from a non-Suzuki retailer is expensive.
