I am a newbie so be gentle please.....There is a hose nipple on the right rear of the carb that looks like it feeds into the top of the float bowl....then there is a nipple on the left side of the carb that looks identical to the one on the right. The left one has a hose attached but the hose does not hook onto anything. What do these two nipples get hooked to???

I do have a Clymer manual but the pics are poor and I can't determine anything. Like to get this sorted out so I can take a short ride before the predicted snow Saturday.

Thanks to all for such a great site. It is really the reason that I bought this 6000 mile 06 650. I just changed to the Raptor petcock to eliminate one potential problem.

Those are likely the float bowl vents. They originally (both) had a black tube that went up above the carb, and they terminated in the frame above the carb. I will see if I can find a photo.
