so was wiping the bike down today and i noticed a nice chrome bolt in the cylinder jug on the right had side of the motor. any ideas what this is or why its there?

If it is the one on the side of the head, near the top.....that is what holds the cam chain guide it place.

Definitely don't take it out.......or you will likely have to take a lot more of the engine apart to get it put together again!
