Title: Front footpegs
Post by sanodusa on 03/06/17 at 13:12:09

I just purchased an 02 Savage and have to replace the front pegs. I tried a rear peg to maybe use temporarily but the left side one goes downward with pressure on it. Can anyone help.

Shouldn't go down with pressure, did you install them upside down?

You can take apart the old front ones and abuse them to being straight again.

The right side I can abuse it as you call it but the left side is broken. The previous owner made a rig up with the inner piece of the peg I'm assuming and rigged up a sportbike peg to it.

You might try looking in the marketplace.

It's possible to get a generic Harley type foot peg and drill out the mounting hole so it fits the Savage through bolt. I was able to do it to a cheap set I picked up used after buggering up the stock set on my '02.

I may have a set for sale soon.   I should be starting my mid controls here shortly.

Thanks ohiomoto I may take you up on the offer if I can't find anything. The harley peg thing is what I was thinking at first but am leary about it wanting to go downward. My thinking right now is cutting some 1/2 inch square tubing 6 inches long and drilling a whole through it. I think it would work perfectly fine what do ya'll think?
