Very interesting pg. We never had those in NZ we did get a lot of 741B "Army" Indians, since I can't cut and paste, just Google Army Indian Motorcycle. Obviously there were British bikes here as well.

Ear rings and "manbuns"????, what ever they are, are for peace time. A nasty enemy might stick a bayonet in you ear rings, by mistake of course. He/she might do horrid things to your "manbuns" if he/she knows what they are or can find them. These things aren't "cool" are they?

Thank you Gizzo, I had in fact already Googled them, so I now have an idea of what they are. This led to some historical thought regarding Ruttly's comments. In the nineteenth century manbuns or similar were worn by fierce, courageous and brutal Maori warriors in my country, during their fights with the British army, and the colonists. It should be pointed out that some Maori, manbunned or otherwise fought alongside the British. I wonder if manbuns were adopted by North American Indians during their wars with the settlers? In deference to Ruttly, I must state that no Maori soldiers wore manbuns in WW1, 2, Korea or Vietnam.

Cool pix. When my Dad came back from the Philippines in 1945, they were selling new Harley Davidson 45s on the docks at San Diego for $50. Jeeps for $100. War surplus. Merchants in San Diego were paying premium prices for Nambu pistols and samurai swords.

I thought it was tanks that won the war.....and bombs.....and fighter planes....and infantry!

No wonder Harley has become so popular! :)

Dave, just to derail it further, it was various homo sapiens in or on the bikes, tanks, trucks, planes, ships, feet, subs and code rooms that won it.
