Title: Replacing all gaskets Post by mkelee on 02/23/17 at 18:41:03 I'm in the process of replacing all of my gaskets on my motor. I was wondering if there were any prefered or recommended sealants that y'all use. I've gotten a lot of good help with my bike from this site, so any suggestions please through then at me! Thanks for your help |

Title: Re: Replacing all gaskets Post by mkelee on 02/23/17 at 22:06:57 I have split both cases, pulled the head, and the jug. I bought a used motor because i blew my old one so im making sure the motor i bought is all in working order. I was recommended to get some opinions from this community. |
Title: Re: Replacing all gaskets Post by Dave on 02/24/17 at 02:38:33 I do the same thing the factory does.....Suzukibond sealant in those places where it belongs (center case seam, head cap cover), and I use factory gaskets everywhere else. The only place I stray a bit from what the factory does is where the wires exit the case on the left for the charging system, and on the right for the neutral light - I put a small amount of sealant on the plug - as the rubber can get stiff and shrink as it ages. |
