Title: Crankcase Gasket
Post by njohnso8 on 02/11/17 at 10:43:08

Hey guys, 2 questions about sealing up the crankcase

1) Im getting contradictory info about the liquid gasket to use for sealing the case halves together. Clymers says threebond 1216 and the Suzuki Service manual says Suzuki bond 1207b. I'm inclined to go with the service manual over Clymers. What do yall use?

2) The service manual mentions putting a new gasket under this crankcase bolt (in the pic I attached) and clymers (pg135) mentions putting a new sealing washer under the rear right hand bolt. They point to different things and none of the OEM part listers show anything of the sort. Anyone got a part number on this mystery washer/gasket

Thanks!

GASKET (5.8X13X1.2)
09168-06023 or 24

Get a handful of them, really useful, I use the old ones like star washers on those screws that keep loosening.

I used Hondabond cause I found it first.  Been together over a year, no leaks.

Thanks Verslagen!

A little bit of google searching is leading me to believe Hondabond is just Threebond 1216, I already have a tube of Suzukibond 1216 so maybe I'll just use that. Do you know if these are in fact all the same?
