Title: Adjustable levers?
Post by zipidachimp on 12/30/16 at 00:58:45

Anyone try adjustable levers?  I'd like to bring them closer to the bar without losing any pull. Can only find sportbike types for 7/8" bars :(

Nobody seems to make them for a low volume bike like the Savage.

You can heat your lever with a propane torch to soften them, and then reshape them.....the temper will return to the aluminum after a few days.  Rub a bar of soap on the aluminum before you heat them. and only heat until the soap begins to darken.  Also you should trace a pattern of how you want the lever shaped before you begin bending....and you can reshape without reheating as long as you do it within the same session....don't wait several hours.

The levers seem to be perfect stock and I have small hands. You'll spend big bucks on those. Chimp hands ? What's the issue ?

In the past I have drilled & tapped lever posts & installed a Allen set screw to get lever closer to the grip. Then readjust the cable. Adjustable & inexpensive.

Chimp , Did you find any adjustable levers ? Might try some Harley suppliers maybe Fatbook as they use the 1" bars too !
