Actually yes, if you have more than 7K, LEO can take under civil asset forfeiture laws.

I always thought is was 10,000 Cash, when leaving the USA.

Oh, you do know, the reason the US in such a hurry, had to change the 100.00 bills, twice?

When you go through the airport.
They can be scanned, (while in you pocket),
so Security, knows, Exactly, how much you have !

if you withdraw $10,000 in cash from a bank for example, the bank must fill out a form that gets submitted to the Feds. (My son is in banking)

That's how Dennis Hastert got caught paying off the guy he molested in high school.

Don’t know about withdrawing that much.

Most I ever did, was 4,000.00 for a good deal on a Lawn Mower, (Big ZTR)
Bank never batted a eye.
